Project Overview:
The Bacolod Esplanade project was envisioned as a modern public outdoor space that promotes connectivity, relaxation, and community interaction within the urban landscape of Bacolod City. Designed to serve as both a recreational and visual destination, the esplanade integrates nature and architecture to create an inviting environment for everyday use.
Design Concept:
The landscape concept follows a Modern Tropical approach, combining lush planting with structured hardscape elements to establish a clean yet welcoming atmosphere. Native and adaptive plant species were incorporated to support sustainability, reduce maintenance requirements, and strengthen the project’s connection to the local environment. The overall composition balances open circulation spaces with shaded green areas to encourage comfort and accessibility.
Design Concept:
- Modern tropical landscape design integrating greenery and contemporary hardscape details.
- Wide pedestrian pathways designed to support accessibility and smooth circulation.
- Use of native and adaptive plant species for environmental sustainability and long-term maintenance efficiency.
- Functional outdoor spaces that encourage recreation, leisure, and community engagement.
Outcome:
The Bacolod Esplanade creates a vibrant and refreshing public environment that enhances the city’s urban character while promoting outdoor activity and social interaction. Through the integration of sustainable landscape strategies and modern design principles, the project delivers a functional and visually engaging space for the community.
